Our company, which is in the hospitality industry in Saudi Arabia, was in need of Excellent food photographs for our restaurant menus.
As my Marketing Manager and I were travelling to London on business I took the opportunity to surf the Internet for A food stylist and came across freelance Food Stylist/Home Economist Maureen Murray’s food website www.foodesign.co.uk . I contacted Maureen to discuss this photographic food project and I was delighted to discover that she was extremely helpful, confident and that she could also recommend an excellent food photographer with whom she worked on a regular basis.
My colleague and I arranged to fly to Newcastle upon Tyne and meet with Maureen of Foodesign and Mike Slawski of Magenta Photographic Studio. Magenta Photographic Studio is very convenient to get to as it is only 15 minutes from Newcastle International Airport.
Our first meeting went extremely well and we agreed to commence work the next day with four food shots. At the end of that first working day we were so pleased with the high standard of the food photographs Mike and Maureen produced for us that we were confident we could commission them to complete all the food shots for our menus. 31 shots in total.
We flew back to Saudi Arabia the following day extremely confident that we could leave the total project in the hands of this very capable food photography team. Over the next couple of weeks as the food shots for our menus were being systematically completed, we communicated via telephone and email to finalise the food photographs. This worked extremely well and each time a new shot was revealed to us over the Internet, not only were we well pleased with the excellent photographs but also how quickly this very professional team were getting through the work.
Maureen has a good eye for colour and the ability to make the food look fresh, wholesome and appetising and Mike’s photography is astounding. This was certainly an excellent experiment assisted by modern day technology and we are delighted with the outcome i.e., We now have extremely superior professional photographs of dishes on our menus which our clients not only recognise but the photographs entice our clients taste buds and prompt them to order the dishes.
Without doubt we will be using Foodstylist Maureen Murray from Foodesign and Food Photographer Mike Slawski at Magenta Photographic Studio for our future menus and would certainly recommend them to any future prospective employer.
